You don’t have to be a chef to make amazing meals.  Following recipes is quite simple, it just takes practice!!  I am a busy mom of 2 who doesn’t have much time to cook during the week, so I make up for it on weekends!  Why is my blog called Fridaynightgourmet?  Because Friday is my favorite day of the week.  After a long week of work and kids sports/homework/etc. I CANNOT wait to sit back on Friday night with a glass (or 3) of good wine and a fabulous meal!! I much prefer staying in on Friday night than going out.  I’ve been cooking for many years, but have only been cooking “amazing” meals for the past year.  I was so tired of eating the same crap every week that I decided each weekend I would cook 1-2 totally new meals.  I’ve really enjoyed it and I am pretty sure my guests have also!! 🙂

I work from home on Fridays so if you don’t, you may not have time on Friday to prepare some of these meals.  I usually do the prep in the morning if it’s a crock pot meal or during lunch for a dutch oven meal.  Meals that require much of the prep time while cooking I will do on Sat or Sun (I will let you know how much prep time each meal takes).  I know there are a lot of people out there who are not great cooks (or don’t think they can be) and don’t have a lot of experience with elaborate meals.  I am hoping this blog helps you get more comfortable with that – I will re-word complicated recipes to make them easier to understand.  You CAN make amazing meals, I promise!
